Dryad

You see that tree up on that hillso grand, so elegant so toweringshe is mine and I am hersI climb up her trunkand sleep in her embraceI dangle from her branchesand she shades me underher protective green canopy
She is mine and I am herswe are one in the same
She cannot survive without meand I cannot live without herto be taken from her lovingsheltering armswould be to die alonewe complete each otherthe mother and the daughterTree and dryad
She is mine and I am herswe are one in the same
You cannot see mebut you can feel mewith the caress ofmy falling leaves
You cannot see mebut you can touch mewith soft loving handsintimately and freely
You cannot see mebut you can sense mesupporting you withmy trunk of strength
You cannot see mebut you can hug meas I hold you closein an earthy embrace
You cannot see mebut you can hear mewhispering your namea soft murmer on ears
You cannot see mebut you can smell memy blossoms openingand blooming for you
You cannot see mebut you can taste mein the succulent fruitI offer unto you
You cannot see mebut you do know mewe are one in the samepray do not leave mestanding herealone and solitaryshe warns me of youever since I first learned to danceshe said "Daughter, aye therebe temptation in the arms of manbut he'll cut up your heartwoodbleed your roots dry"I heed not my mothershe has never feltyour love as I haveall I want is to breakfree of my earthy prisonleave my mother's shelterand dance when I wish to dancenot when the Goddess deems it so.
I love her and cannot live without heryet I would surrender my heartwoodsacrafice my very existencefor one night in your armsfor one kiss of your lipsfor one moment of earthly bliss.I break free allowingyou to whisk me awayinto your soft arms.
She is mine and I am herswe are one in the same
Why do you look at me so?Can you not see the magicand beauty in my eyes?Your kiss seals my fatethe caress of destructionI too weakened by the dizzinessyou have caused medancing me 'round and 'roundin neverending circlesall the while looking through meI, innocent of human loveas you tear out my green lockslighting them aflamethen you carve into my skinbleeding I bleedcrying tears of rainStop I beg of you...you continue the assaultcutting me down to sizeleaving me there to dieI hear her screamsyet I cannot reach her
She is mine and I am herswe are one in the same
Oh...Mother, I whisper in vainyou were right...I lay tremblingunder her tearful gaze, bowed downbroken, bleeding, dying-all for the love of man.
